Institute organises entrepreneurship training for youths, women

Abuja,Oct. 27, 2022( ABC) The National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism( NIHOTOUR), says it’s organising entrepreneurship training for youths and women across the 36 countries of the Federation.

The Director- General( D- G) of NIHOTOUR, Alhaji Nura Kangiwa, bared this in a statement inked by Mr Joesef Karim, his Special Assistant on Technical, on Thursday in Abuja.

According to Kangiwa, the training tagged “ Sustainable Tourism Entrepreneurship Programme( STEP) ” is an innovative training and commission programme on tourism and hospitality, small business launch– ups, and sustainable operations in Nigeria.

The NIHOTOUR master added that the programme was new and designed to trainequip and tutor trainees on hands– on chops and entrepreneurial capabilities for successful operations of small businesses.

He said actors would be trained on the tourism assiduity value– chain similar as; cuisineconfectionconfectionarystint operationsstint guiding, and trip agency operations skirting on marking and reservations.

“ The design aims at growing the profitable conditioning of Nigeria in their separate locales for the growth of income and savings by original residers.

“ It’ll help to increase growth in employment openingsincreased number of tone employment and development of areas of tourism spots and businesses, ” he said.

He further said that the training was targeted at youthful girls and women who were singlemarried or widowed, and vulnerable youths who were either orphans, abandoned or academy drop– outs.

The D- G listed others to include the physically challenged persons, internally displaced Persons, jobless and unemployed graduates of tertiary institutions.

He explained that the STEP design would be hosted across Nigeria’s six- geopolitical zones.

“ The Programme would take place within three successive timetable months; one month of class work, two months of internshippractical training and mentorship.

“ It’ll be at private tourism business organisations within the governance of NIHOTOUR training accreditation, and the Hospitality and Tourism Sector Chops Council of Nigeria( HTSSCN).

“ The programme will also run on Nigeria’s National Chops Qualification( NSQ) frame, which is offered and designed grounded on the judgments and confirmation of the colorfulsub-sectors stakeholders.

“ The award of position three qualification requires the learner to achieve 36 Credit Units or 360 Guided Learning Hours, ” he said.

Kangiwa said the design was billed to protest– off byNov. 28, at NIHOTOURS’s Abuja lot. with assignations extended to assiduity and multinational stakeholders, including representatives of the World Bank, ILO, and UNESCO.

Others were UNWTO, ECOWAS, Foreign Delegacies in Nigeria, NGOs, CSOs, Narcissist and Social Development agencies in Nigeria.

The director said that the design was in- line with the well-conditioned
documented objects of the UN Educational, Scientific and
Cultural Organization( UNESCO) programmesrelated to the
delivery of Technical and Vocational Education and Training( TVET).

ABC reports that NIHOTOUR is an organisation under the Ministry of Information & Culture, engaged in training, consultancy, exploration and publications, in order to promote chops and entrepreneurship courses and programmes.
The Institute has played a vital part in erecting an entrepreneurial ecosystem, not only in Nigeria, but in other countries through transnational training and development programmes.
